Resveratrol kills human cancer cells in the lab

scientist1A study published in the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry on 7/26/2008 found that exposing malignant cancer cells to resveratrol for 24 hours resulted in those cells dying at 3 times the rate of normal cells while normal cells subsequently regrew 5 times faster than the cancer cells. The study concludes that resveratrol has the effect of selectively targeting cancer cells and directs them to “irreversible cell death”.

In-vitro lab results do not infer similar results in live human subjects, but these are exciting results.
